In the presence of my creator!

Psalm 46:10

I am called to be…still.

A lot of different topics have been running through my head recently for topics I would like to write about and cover in a post. One that came up while thinking was to be still. I didn’t think much of it at first. But after sitting on it and really thinking about it I thought it would be a great topic to talk about.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Today (06/07/2013) I was sent home early from work because the weather was not the best. So when I heard I could go home I was a little worried if I could find something to do to occupy my time. Well I did. I eventually found myself walking around on the lakefront and just taking in God’s creation.

I arrived at the lakefront with a busy mind, thoughts going back and forth at a million miles a second. As soon as I got out of my car and started walking, I started to pray and thank God for the beautiful earth that He created. Even though it was a dreary day I still thanked him. After spending some time with God I just stared off into the horizon, glancing here and there at boats that were attempting to cross the vast lake with 2-foot waves.

As time passed my once busy mind became clear. When looking out and just witnessing God’s creation my mind became clear. To often we get tied up in our day-to-day lives and sometimes it gets the best of us. But let me tell you that, for that couple of minutes where my mind was calm and nothing was a worry that was the best time. I honestly was speechless. I still am speechless; I am having a hard time describing to you what I am trying to bring across in this post.

With work, school, and other day-to-day activities we sometimes lose sight of what God has created. We sometimes get so carried away with our life that we take it for granted and we don’t really take in what God has created. I encourage you; to take a step back, and spend some time with God. Be still and allow his plan for your life to unfold. As you seek God and his calling for your life, soak up all that He has created around you. Be still. You will be surprised with what you find.
